New Delhi (Feb 5, 2011): GGS students hosted an interschool debate on the topic, "Parents are the students' best friends and Guide."

For-the-motion was the consensus at inter-school English debate at God's Grace School. Contestants both for and against the motion made outstanding and convincing arguments. But parents are after all irreplaceable. Their writ naturally runs supreme on the children's minds.

The winners include Sheeza Fatima, Rukhsana Ali Khan, Mohit Gulati, Bushra Arif, Ajay Sharma, Sana Khan, Hurmat Husain and Iqra Raza. Besides God's Grace, the participants were from Cambridge School, New Horizon School, Charles Dickens School, Ideal Public School, Jamia School etc.

The debators were jointly judged by Dr Asad Ali, former professor of English in Jamia Millia Islamia and currently Chairman, Jamia Cooperative Bank Ltd, Reverend Father Dr Packiam Samuel, General Secretary, Interfaith Coalition for Peace and Dr Sheela, Principal of S. K. Convent. All three of them enthusiastically encouraged all the participants and gave away the prizes.  

God's Grace Group Principal Dr Nazira Mahmood emphasised the importance of nurturing the children's communication and oratorial skills so that the upcoming generation is better equipped than the current one.
